Looking Skyward!

E. C. Phillips, (a.k.a. Eddie Phillips) graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, earning an Associates Degree. I then worked in the employment of different art organizations for 20 years before starting my own design studio in a partnership with my creative son Clayton, known as Xanfar Design Studio (XDS) out of Shortsville NY. I worked in the XDS studio business for over 8 years.

After deciding to leave the fast-paced world of design I joined a local Community Art Center as a member, Phelps Art Center (PAC) in Phelps NY. After a of year volunteering and teaching art classes to 4 different home-schooling groups, the Phelps Art Center community asked me to join the Board of Directors.

After 10 months serving in that capacity, I then agreed to take on the position of Executive Director for the Phelps Arts Center (PAC). I held this position for almost 6 years. While in that role I organized many local art shows, built the community artist group and increased membership in PAC. I also organized dozens of different community art-based exhibits and events and curated 09 to 12 art shows a year. This role also gave me experience in grant writing and developed my marketing skills for promoting and advertising the Arts. I also continued with the teaching the art classes with local home-schooling groups.

I moved to the City of Stillwater in June of 2023 for my retirement from the “workforce” along with my wife Judy, as she continues to be employed with OSU. I am now enjoying my retirement and looking forward to growing, exploring and advancing my art skills and talents forward into my upcoming retirement years.
