SUMMARY:ISGP Application for Undergraduate Seminar
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to invite all Bahá’í youth in the United States who are engaged in their undergraduate studies and who wish to participate in the series of enriching seminars offered by the Institute for Studies in Global Prosperity (ISGP)—in collaboration with the National Spiritual Assembly of the United States—to express their interest by completing a web-based application form. \n\n\n\nAs part of its efforts to build capacity in individuals and to create spaces for learning about the betterment of society\, ISGP offers a sequence of annual seminars designed to accompany undergraduate students through four years of university studies. The purpose of these intensive seminars is to raise the consciousness of youth about the importance of engaging in action and discourse directed towards social change; to develop their capacity to reflect\, to analyze\, and to learn from action; to explore elements of a conceptual framework for contributing to the advancement of civilization; to provide them with tools to understand and analyze the culture in which they are immersed as well as the content of the university courses they are studying; to help them assume ownership of their education; and to assist them in their efforts to acquire the kind of knowledge that will enable them to live productive and meaningful lives. More information about ISGP\, an organization established in 1999 by the Universal House of Justice\, may be found at www.globalprosperity.org. \n\n\n\nBelow is application information for the undergraduate seminar scheduled to take place this summer at Green Acre and is open to youth living anywhere in the United States. Please know that applications received after the deadline will be reviewed and potentially added to a waitlist. \n\n\n\nDates: July 27– August 6\, 2024 \n\n\n\nFee: $440 \n\n\n\nOnline application due by May 21\, 2024 \n\n\n\nContact: isgp@greenacre.org \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease note a separate undergraduate seminar offering especially for youth in the Northeast region will be held at Green Acre in August and has a separate application process. For more details on that seminar please contact isgp.northeast@bahai.us \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nParticipants will be required to attend the full duration of the 11-day seminar and to attend the annual seminar in the particular unit where they first participated.  \n\n\n\nThe costs of the seminars are subsidized by the National Spiritual Assembly. The remaining cost is a flat fee of $440\, which is applied toward room and board for the 11 days and the seminar materials. Financial assistance is available for those who are unable to pay the entire $440 fee and/or travel costs on their own\, helping to ensure that financial obstacles are not a barrier for participation in the seminars.
