DESCRIPTION:The Absolutely Extraordinary Ordinary Photography of Harold Feinstein \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGALLERY HOURS\n\n\n\nSunday\, June 9th | 1:00 – 4:00 PM \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is free. Registration is encouraged but not required. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHarold Feinstein was born in Coney Island in 1931 and discovered a passion for photography as a teenager. When he died in June 2015\, the New York Times declared him “one of the most accomplished recorders of the American experience.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“What attracted us to Harold’s work was he had a love of people and of beauty. That love comes through so strongly in his photographs. He sees the dignity and uniqueness in each person and he helps us see it.” \n—Robert Sapiro\, Administrator of Green Acre\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHarold Feinstein\, 1998 ©Judith Thompson\n\n\n\n\n\nFeinstein had a career spanning almost 70 years and has a library of over 150\,000 images. In addition to photos of people\, he created breathtaking color photos of flowers\, reminding us to look closely to see the beauty we might overlook. \n\n\n\nHis wife\, Judith Thompson of Exeter\, NH\, runs the Harold Feinstein Archive Trust. At the exhibit opening\, she will share some stories of Harold’s life and work and be available for questions. \n\n\n\nFeinstein was also a master teacher\, helping many photographers develop their craft. He said “When your jaw drops\, click the shutter.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“My source of inspiration has always been my students. I bring out the best in them\, and they bring out the best in me.
