SUMMARY:Project Empathy | Green Acre at Seacoast Rep
DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by Artists Building Capacity as World Citizens \n\n\n\nProject Empathy is a performance-based project in which people are paired up and tasked with telling each other’s true\, personal stories. It was created in 2017 by Catherine Cote and has been performed on two continents. \n\n\n\n\nWhat would it look like if a police chief and a racial justice activist could listen to and then share each other’s stories? \n\n\n\nWhat about a white woman in her 70s and a Black man in his 20s?\n\n\n\nHow would the process change how they saw and understood each other?\n\n\n\nHow would it affect an audience? The community?\n\n\n\n\nThe Green Acre production pairs eight people with very different backgrounds who all live in the Seacoast community to answer these questions and share each other’s stories through performance\, music and dance.  \n\n\n\nWe are excited to bring this production to the Seacoast Rep as part of the Sol Series: Townhall Meetings with a simultaneous in-person and livestreamed performance.
