The Sarah Farmer Inn is named after Green Acre founder, Sarah Jane Farmer, who was a scholar of world religions and a crusader of peace.
Built in 1890, the building has been restored and furnished in the distinctive character and styling of its turn-of-the-century architecture. The lobby provides an ideal location for relaxing with friends. The expansive front porch has long been a favorite gathering place and offers a spectacular view of the Piscataqua River.
Prayer and Meditation Room
The third floor houses the room in which ‘Abdu’l-Bahá once resided when visiting Green Acre in 1912. The Master’s Room is open for quiet prayer and meditation for anyone who wishes to spend time there.
Those who are not participating in a program or event but would like to visit the Master’s Room are asked to contact Green Acre several days in advance for information about our hours.
