Eastern Band Cherokee

Osiyo! My name is Angela (translated in Tsalagi as Anidawehi) and this is the first time I’ve ever shared this art publically. I am not an artist, but this reason and this purpose behind this art called to me. I am learning through newspaper clippings, old regalia, and family oral histories of our Cherokee heritage. I'm hoping to find answers lost from family separation. I’m teaching myself beadwork and Tsalagi, hoping I can honor my ancestors along the way. A Shaman has granted me the opportunity to have a naming ceremony and I couldn't be more honored. I'm ready to learn and ready to educate people on how we are all connected as beings from Creator. How we all must cherish Mother Earth.
