Innu Nation (Uashat mak Mani-Utenam Community)

In 2016, Ingrid loses her daughter and nephew in a car accident, her life is turned upside down. In pain, she decides to make dream catchers, to try to forget and survive this tragedy. She realizes that the dream catchers follow her day and night, since in her dreams, the spider comes to visit her. She meets a spiritual guide, who tells her that this spider is her grandmother who accompanies her to get her out of this pain, this sorrow and this darkness. She discovers a new artistic practice. A blank canvas, brushes, color and here she is painting dream catchers. Over time Ingrid realized that she was on the road to recovery.Today her work represents the resilience and strength of Aboriginal women, creators and protectors of life.
