Agnieszka Palka is a Polish-born visual artist who lives and works in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey.
As a result of continuous efforts to represent the world through the application of formal art elements, Realism and Impressionism became the preferred styles. The self-taught artist’s focus centered on portraits, objects, and especially children, employing classical painting techniques in oil, soft pastels, and textiles. Regardless of the hours dedicated to recording or a specific subject matter at a given moment, the artist aims to capture the essence of time. The newest artist’s work echoes the current events of the socio-political landscape. The artist intentionally constructs sculptures from specific contemporary materials to reflect the complexities of the current time in history.
Her work is found in public collections, including the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Museum in Warsaw.
