I am a contemporary artist working in the South Coast Region of Eastern Massachusetts after spending many years in the Amherst–Northampton area of Western Mass. Creating paintings and photographic sequences in response to walking the land. Long based on the observation of nature and natural processes, I center my work on being present and holding contemplative attention on the process of transformation visible in the ocean, sky, rivers and streams. My practice begins with walking performed as an art experience, during which I take photographs, sometimes while in motion to capture a sense of movement. I have exhibited widely in museums, galleries and alternative spaces around New England and shown work in Brooklyn, NY and Santa Fe, NM.
