Clarise Annette Brooks is an educator who has enjoyed being a teacher, as well as a school and district administrator. By night she enjoys participating in spoken word and open mic events where she shares her poetry with both live and online audiences. In February of 2022, she was featured in Rhode Island’s statewide magazine HEY RHODY for her work at the microphone and for the release of her book of poetry, EXCUSE ME WHILE I LIVE MY LIFE, which hit #1 on Amazon’s new releases in the genre of Black & African American Poetry.
