I was born and raised in two Americas as my life has been split between the two continents, and both profoundly influence my work. I was born in New York City, raised in New Jersey, and attended a private high school and college in the Northeast. Marriage to a Colombian man led me to a whole new world. I lived for 21 years in Colombia, South America, where I had my son and daughter and launched my thirty-year career in international education and school administration. While there, I had the opportunity to serve an indigenous community- the Wayuu in the Guajira region and make many friendships with rural and indigenous people who inspired me with the wisdom of those who live close to nature and God. They approach life as a spiritual journey. In my journey, I have been guided by the spiritual teachings of the Bahá’í Faith, which continually inspire me in my path of learning, transformation, connection, and service in bonds of love with others.
After leaving Colombia, I worked for two years in Guatemala, and in my last post before retirement, I served eighteen years as the Executive Director of the School of the Nations in Brasilia, Brazil.
Now blessed with four precious grandchildren and time to dive into a deep personal passion: writing! I am writing poems and working on the sequel to my fantasy debut novel, Laela and the Moonline.
