Canadian Metis/Abenaki
Rhonda Besaw specializes in traditional and contemporary Wabanaki style beadwork. The Wabanaki people include the tribes historically located in the Northeastern United States, Quebec and the Maritimes. The Wabanaki include: the Passamaquoddy, Penobscot, Malicite, Mik’maq and Abenaki tribes. Rhonda is of Canadian metis/Abenaki descent and lives in the Abenaki homeland of Ndakinna in northern New Hampshire.
