As part of its efforts to build capacity in individuals to create spaces for learning about the betterment of society, the Institute for Studies in Global Prosperity (ISGP) offers a sequence of annual seminars designed to accompany undergraduate students through four years of university studies.

The purpose of these intensive seminars is to raise the consciousness of youth about the importance of engaging in action and discourse directed towards social change; to develop their capacity to reflect, to analyze, and to learn from action; to explore elements of a conceptual framework for contributing to the advancement of civilization; to provide them with tools to understand and analyze the culture in which they are immersed as well as the content of the university courses they are studying; to help them assume ownership of their education; and to assist them in their efforts to acquire the kind of knowledge that will enable them to live fruitful, productive and meaningful lives.

ISGP is a non-profit organization, working in collaboration with the Bahá’í International Community, which is dedicated to building capacity in individuals, groups and institutions to contribute to prevalent discourses concerned with the betterment of society. Drawing on both science and religion as two complementary systems of knowledge and practice, ISGP fosters the creation of learning environments where knowledge and experience can be shared and systematized. Principles, concepts and approaches that are relevant to the advancement of civilization are explored through processes of study, reflection, and consultation that are grounded in practice.

Please note that there is another undergraduate seminar offering that will also be hosted at Green Acre from July 24th to August 3rd. That seminar has its own application process and coordination team. For information on how to apply to that seminar as well as any questions related to your application, please contact isgp@greenacre.org.
